What Malaʻe Productions contributed
Malaʻe Productions captured exclusive footage of tiger sharks feeding on a whale carcass off Hawaii's coast — a rare natural history event that earned national news coverage through Hawaii News Now.
This is the kind of moment our home base makes possible. Our boats live at Keauhou Harbor on the Kona coast and at Kawaihae on the Big Island, so when a natural history event unfolds offshore the crew, cameras and marine platforms are already on the island. The sequence sits in our archive alongside whale shark encounters and humpback whales from the air, and a still from it, Feeding Frenzy, is in our photography portfolio.
The footage is part of one of the largest private 4K and 8K Hawaii stock libraries in existence, which is how a news outlet or documentary can license rare marine behavior from us rather than waiting for it to happen again. The same underwater and aerial crews, RED Digital Cinema cameras and Nauticam housings are available for assignment work in Hawaiian waters.
For tiger shark, whale and other marine natural history footage, or to put a crew on the water, get in touch with shoot dates and the subject you need.
